I'm looking forward to April and my annual pilgrimage to Shenadoah National Park. I go by myself every year and get myself reacquainted with warm weather before it actually reaches Ohio. I can't begin to explain with words the way that place makes me feel, so I won't try to. I just love it.

They were MSR EVO Ascents. 22" long with 6" tails. Clearly insufficient that those conditions.

I've been getting by with old, out of date, borrowed, or rented crap on minimal hikes. Am just about done putting together a complete new gear collection. Looking forward to a week long summer hike to break it all in.

LIhikers ... how was it? Heading up in two weeks for some over nights and wondering if I should bring snowshoes or just microspikes ... All the trails here in Suffolk are stomped pretty well at this point. Later!
