    Default ATats!

Friends! Colleagues! Lovers! (What?) I'm in need of pics (+stories! names! how old the tattoo is! et cetera!) of your AT tattoos and/or if you're planning on getting one if you finish this year! I'm going to be doing a blog for app trials on the subject. Thanks and stuff.
The funniest thing, I think, about the trail, is that I was almost always so inexplicably happy. Every night I had the most bizarrely cheerful dreams.

No tattoos, but I have a couple of scars. Would those work?

Yes, actually, those could be cool. We'll call them "Natats" (nature + tat, eh?)

Are you asking for natats about the AT or just natats, because I got quite a few natats from life?

I have a tattoo of a button accordion on my forearm, and took the trail name squeeze box.

Look at my recent pics for my AT tat-(combination of 4 tats over 5 years). Look at previous pics for original pic and progression of that tat. Story---I wanted a way to show off my passion for the AT via ink. Started as a simple idea, and morphed from there. Not done with it yet, but no tat cash available right now to proceed.

Sweet! What years? Why do you hike? What's your favorite part of the trail?

Original tat done early 2007. Added wrap in 2008. Added/lowered wrap to include surface of lake, etc., in 2010. Added/lowered wrap to include inner earth crust in 2012. Heading skyward on next tat,, will add stars, galaxies, etc.

Started section hike of trail in 2000. I hike because I love being in nature, and love the challenge. Favorite part of trail,,, wow, that's tough. Smokies, Roan, Max Patch, McAfee's Know/Tinker Cliff's, Dragon's Tooth,,,, and many more all come to mind so far,,, but probably my absolute favorite is Mt.Rogers area in VA. Vista's, rocky outcroppings, wild ponies,,, and it's where I first touched the AT. It holds a special place in my heart!!!

And Asheville is my birthtown,,, so I have mountains in my blood.
