35 foxes stared at me shortly after my health was docked, when picking mushrooms didn't go well.... orrrrrr did it?

First time, I made it about 2000 miles. After several deaths in GA and NC, I made it to Yankeeland a few more times, but still no finish.

I have learned that I am not healthy enough for a thru-hike.

Most disturbing is that I have grown a beard.

Ha Ha... I get it! I sometimes call him deerest hunter. He is a dear, ya know.

I'm going to beat it. I suppose I need to try again! LOL.

Aw dang it! I was soooo close. I came within 1,845 miles of the goal...and then I caught Lymes Disease. That just sucks! I probably would have gone broke anyway...I only had 300 and something dollars left in my pocket. Maybe next time when I feel up to staying up this late.

Hiking as a "retiree" is the easiest, "professional" is harder and "student" seems to be impossible in my experience.

I finally finished on my 5th attempt!!! Money was no longer an issue once I learned to avoid sleeping in town unless I absolutely needed health or energy.

Hey there, DH! Just remembered the game this morning, and wanted to kick it back up on the board for some of the newer members to see.

YES...2nd try and made it to the end with over $500 left...only sleep in town when you have to and don't let your health get much below 50%...a snakebite will take 50% health away and your are dead meat, that is what happened to me the first try!

Made it on fifth attempt as a "Professional" with UL gear. Sounds about right...

14.9 miles per day average, 29 zeroes, and a whole lot of really long days in between the zeroes. Less than $200 remaining, but I pumped up the health at the end.

The game was a little loose with resupply points in the HMW, but with 5 days food max and White House Landing now closed, the 100 miles might be pretty difficult for many.

Fun game. Still don't feel like hiking any "hills" anytime soon though...
