Died after 111 miles. Apparently energy going to zero kills you, no option to camp between shelters to get energy back up!

I just got a stress fracture outside the NOC. I was working my retiree pretty hard. He had also been sprayed by a skunk, incurred massive blisters and been "startled by a chipmunk." Poor chap.

I made about 700 miles using my AT hike as a guideline for how I played it. I didn't seem to get the trail angel offering to fluff up my pillow at night option nor the free stays that I was offered on the AT. Without the help I received on the trail the game predicts I would have died in VA. Most likely true I would have died if I didn't get so much help, but yes the AT includes such help for her children, so there we are.

Thanks for the gift! I never figured people would donate money...the game is definitely being received better than I anticipated. It's so exciting to watch the stats and hear people's unique game scenarios!

For the record, 2 people have now completed the entire trail out of several hundred attempts.

This is fun too. Someone on the 2013 hiking FB page started a thread asking about- Salad Days. (The thread was started the end of Feb) I just saw it sooo.. I responded by saying, I know him from Whiteblaze & here you are! Bam!!

vtgorilla, 1706 miles and I died from lyme disease (-40 health), with over $3000 cash and 2 months to go. Are there any other things like that you need to watch out for. I guess the lesson for the game is to do more zeroes.
