I'm finally finishing up grad school and it's time to start this pilgrimage! We would prefer to go NOBO but SOBO is going to fit our schedules better. I used to work in Great Smoky Mountains National Park so I'm glad I get to work hard for a long time and then make it to the place I consider my true home. I feel like I've been planning this trip for the past 4 years but finally committed to hiking this past September. I couldn't be more excited! I just need to pass my defense and hope the grad school gives me the thumbs up.

I've had to postpone my departure from a NOBO in March to a SOBO departure in July. Still very excited. Just can't wait to get on the trail. Hope to see some SOBOer's out there with me.

    Approach?
I've been dreaming about doing this for years, but only decided last week that I'm going to finally have a go-- that's how I usually make major life decisions. For warm-up, I hiked Katahdin last week, and hiked Acadia this weekend. If I can make it through the 100 Miles, I can do the whole thing! See you out there!

Yes to approach at the end

My boyfriend, Thomas, and I will be setting out in less than 2 weeks. We've both dreamed of this since we were young and can't wait to get started!!
