Default Fit of the Marmot Mica rain jacket

I'd like to order one of these jackets online but am wondering how they fit? I'm 6', 170 lbs, would be wearing as an outer rain shell. Is a L big enough with layers underneath?

I'm 6'1 and weight 160 lbs and a medium works perfect for me but you may wanna go with a large. I would recommend checking out Marmots sizing chart on their website to be safe.

I'm 6'2" @ 180 lbs and found the large way to restrictive. The Mica comes in a very athletic fit. For example, I wear a large Marmot Precip and an extra large Mica and the Mica is still WAY more slim fitting than the Precip. The Mica only comes out for backpacking trips...everyday use, it's the Precip. I originally ordered a large Mica but had to send it back for the XL.

I have the Marmot Pre Cip and the Mica. They fit approximately the same. If you have a gear store local, you might try the Pre Cip on and that will help....Also saw the Mica on sale today on REI Internet for $100, great deal......

I think somewhere around 2012 or 2013 Marmot changed the fit of the mica and super mica to a more athletic fit. my 2011 XL super mica fits the same as my precip. The newer ones I have tried on fit tighter.

Good thing you pointed that out as I have the newer model and It doesn't even remotely fit the same as my Pre cip.

The Super Mica runs a bit small.
