    other than climbing half dome, what are 5 must see on the JMT?

    Since you included Half Dome, which isn't on the JMT, I will add Clouds Rest.
    Fear ridges that are depicted as flat lines on a profile map.

    My top 5 (and it is hard to come up with just five):

    Thousand Island Lake
    Virginia Lake
    Evolution Basin
    Rae Lakes
    Mt. Whitney

    But I could easily name another five and then five more...
    HST/JMT August 2016
    TMB/Alps Sept 2015
    PCT Mile 0-857 - Apr/May 2015
    Foothills Trail Feb 2015
    Colorado Trail Aug 2014

    from Best down.
    1) Darwin Bench (just off the JMT, north of evolution Lake.)
    2) Tully Hole
    3) LeConte Canyon
    4) Shadow Lake
    5) climb up out of Tuolumne Meadows toward Donahue

    i would not not include half dome but I am likely in the minority on that position.
