Default Coffe can pot with screw top lid

I saw this the other day and though the can might make a good cook pot. It is aluminum and has a screw top lid. The lid has plastic threads on the inside but it could be flipped over and used upside down when cooking.. when I flipped the lid up side down it fit perfectly. I did not buy it because I don't drink decaf.. but it was on sale for $2.99.. I might go look at it again.

    The Idea is sound ...
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

The illy website lets you search for retailers in your area... it indicates I should be able to find their products locally at Whole Foods and Williams Sonoma.

We have an illy only coffee shop here in a Grand Rapids, MI. The coffee is great! IMHO.

I may have seen these at World Market. What is the Illy coffee shop in GR. That's where I am.

I found it at a local grocery store.
    it is magnetic.
    It is not water tight.*

    * I filled it with water, screwed the lid on tight, turned it upside down and no drips. As soon as I turn it sideways, it leaks. -- in case someone was thinking of using it as a Bot. --

+1 on that. This looks similar to a project my troop used to do when I was a Boy Scout. Of course, we used empty Folger's cans... but our Scoutmaster's coffee-a-holic nature provided us with many opportunities to experiment.

I was hoping it would be like a bot.. darn.. I like th bot idea but the price is insane. I have a Hieneken can put but it's too unstable for me.

    Default decaf pot

Thanks for posting this. I've seen similar cans, but was wondering...does this have a seam down the side? The others I have seen are tea canisters, but they all have seams running long the side and I figured it would leak. This one is solid all the way around?
