Default New '06 Osprey Aether Pack

I've got a new '06 Osprey Aether 70 Pack sitting in my front room. I work at an outfitter and got it from my Osprey rep for my upcoming week of hiking in NH before the Gathering. I'd hoped to be trying out the new Aether 60, but due to some mis-communication, he sent me the 70, oh well. The new Aethers (60, 70, 85) have custom heat moldable belts, a lid that converts into a fannypack using the hipbelt (looks very comfy for slacking), an outer pocket that is very similar to the Osprey Atomos packs, and an interesting closed cell foam/mesh covered/pea sized bump covered back panel. I think, but I'm not sure that the suspension is identical to the '06 Aether 60 (I'll check when I work again in a few days). Also, the one I have is really green, REALLY GREEN, kinda like a neon Kermit color. I'll try to post some pix tomorrow, and will give a full review after the hike.
In the meantime any ???, I'll try to answer them.

Yeah, why in the heck would I want to get rid of my '04 Aether 60?

    Default Me too!

I LOVE my 04 Aether 60. For a load up to the mid 30 pound range, its the most comfortable pack I've owned.
