Hey top hat,
I'm in denver and have both erik the black's atlas and the 2014 ct databook, and would be more than happy to resell them (cheap) if you're interested.
send a pm if interested! thanks!

Thanks, bearcreek. You helped me make my decision. CTF Data Book.
My wife and I are hitting the CT tomorrow morning for a few days, sections 7-9, you wouldn't believe the run of fantastic mid-fall weather we're having out here. Spectacular! Chilly nights though, expecting mid-teens around 11K or so.
Here's a copper mountain cam....

If you could take the good features of each and put them together you'd have a great guide...each has it's strong points and it'd weak, I took info from one and wrote it in the other to get what I needed.
I think etb was gonna rehike ct this yr, and issue revised book with collegiate west in future.

Don't know anything about Eric's maps but I have done two thirds of the CT using the data book. Also own the big CT guidebook. I don't bring that of course, but I copy key pages and highlight a few things of importance. The guidebook and data book don't always agree on water/camp locations and it's good to have both info sources. Then I just burn the copied pages after I don't need them anymore. I also carry the Trails Illustrated maps as I like to identify peaks, etc... and know potential bail out points in the case of an unforeseen bad event.
I'm also debating this very issue. I have the official CT Guide Book.
