Starting Springer to Damascus

I'm flying to Atlanta tomorrow morning to start a Springer to Damascus section hike. Actually I'll start at the archway in Amicolola State Park. I'll probably never get their again so I'll take the extra day to hike the approach trail. Looking forward to the experience.

ill be doing the approach trail tomorrow morning, with my dog, and stay the night on Springer. So I may pass you up on my way back wednesday.

I've made it to Erwin, and I'm sitting at Uncle Johnnies Hostel right now.

Water is extremely scarce just south of here. I understand Tennessee is about 5 inches short of normal rainfall.

I was going to stop at No Business shelter last night, but there's no water, no privy, no thank you.

So I hiked the 26.5 miles straight through.
