Default Anyone know this full AT quote?

There's a quote that goes something like: "The Appalachian Trail: the best time you'll ever have in the woods, interrupted by some walking". I can't remember the exact quote, and I also don't know who wrote it. Anyone know the full quote and/or who said it? Thanks in advance!

but here is my favorite quote: I went to the woods because i wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if i could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that i had not lived- Henry David Thoreau.

    or this one: Once you've completed a long distance thru-hike, you're ****ed for life- RED-DOG, GA-ME 2006
