    Default cold weather

    how cold does it get starting out in march going north?
    what temperature rated bag is recommend?
    and would i need a different bag for the summer months up north?

    single digits to teens, with snow and wind are all possible.Typically most thru hikers use two different bags, 10-20 deg bags are too hot for sleeping in the summer.

    March is all over the place in Georgia and NC. I expect the averages are lows in the 20s and highs around 50, but it can easily get into the single digits overnight and be 75 and sunny the following day. I bring a 5F bag for late winter on the AT in the south.

    Asked and answered numerous times.
    The Cliff Notes version: higher elevation = colder. High winds = miserably cold. Rain makes the first two worse.
