Default SNP weather for hike planning

    Folks,

My May trip plan hit the rocks, so I'm re-planning for July. It'll be much warmer then--but how much warmer?

    http://www.weatherforyou.com/reports...ark%2Cvirginia

Shows temperature ranges; other easy to find charts list average/mean temps. But the helpful .gov website says temps run lower than DC or even the lowlands in the park.

So...July 1st as of this posting reads 84f as the high, 61f as the low. So is this SNP forecast accurate for the higher elevations? Does it take into account the difference in altitude?

I'm trying to settle my gear list for a thru of SNP along the AT. Thoughts? Tx,

EXCELLENT. Report includes elevation, which answers all of my questions. Many thanks,
