Well, this NEW Englander isn't taking herself or a pair of kids into conditions that exceed the capacity of their gear (or their good sense ) !

the English also don't have anything like the white mountains , so i think they can get away with that saying over there, always best to be safe. well time to get the gear together teacher & snacktime would have been nice to meet you, we almost crossed paths in pa this past summer going by the log books, would have been fun swap stories

    Dumb question ...
    Big Hill shelter faces Southeast
The wind tomorrow night is a northwest wind
So, dumb question, doesn't that mean the wind will probably be blowing into the shelter?

if it is a NW wind, that means "out of" North West

Not a bad call, cold freezing rain isn't much fun, an definitely something to be endured.

I'm still in the air between arriving late Fri. evening or Sat. morning.

We're playing hooky later today and I'm taking my daughter skiing. Either way I'll see you people at some point.

Change of plans for me. I'm going up Saturday morning. Not sure where yet. Probably Anthony Wayne to West Mountain. Anyone else starting there?

I can get there by 8 or earlier. Shouldn't be much traffic on the GSP on a Saturday. Let me know a good time for you.
