Here's the Sunday celebratory brunch including Another Kevin's wife Mary Ann. All the rest were hikers.
Around the table left to right are CMoulder, Kathy, Hiker Boy, Coach Lou, ImScotty, Mary Ann, and another Kevin.
The empty chair in the middle next to Kathy is mine. Together Kathy and I are LIHikers.
Hmm, the photo didn't upload.
I'll try again later
Thanks all. Had a great time and it was wonderful to meet everyone.

Missing are Lunatic and Sarcasim The Elf as they needed to leave.
Who is just to the right of Coach Lou?

Sounds good to me!

Too soon to tell, but sounds like fun.
I always know where I am. I'm right here.
We're past Thanksgiving (hope you had a good one...) and it is getting colder, so the Martin Luther King weekend is getting closer. where are our professional-grade trip planners? Sixth Annual Winter Trek still at Harriman? Should we consider the Catskills? How about The area around Connecticut's Bear Mountain? ...I guess I may still lean toward the trip that provides the best brunch at the end...

Lou had posted elsewhere with some Harriman location ideas. As much as I'd personally be up for CT or the Catskills, Harriman is centrally located, gives people multiple a wide range of hiking options with varying difficulty (so long as they stay on official trails ) and has a great buffet, so I think it's a winner. I would suggest more options on the Connecticut portion of the A.T., but the fireban puts a major crimp on winter social hikes.
Colorless green ideas sleep furiously.
Put me on the list
I hope to make it again.
Possible venues in the Catskills might be Giant Ledge, which offers easy or moderate approaches, or Echo Lake.
Harriman does indeed offer a blizzard of choices.
Speaking of blizzards, I hope we have enough white stuff this year that snowshoes are needed.

That's a lot more likely in the Catskills than in Harriman!
Giant Ledge will be windy, but the view is great. Aspiring 35ers could grab a winter peak by pushing on to the summit of Panther.
Echo Lake is kind of pretty, low lying, with two interesting and relatively easy approaches (Overlook Mountain, with the fire tower and the ruins, and the carriage road from the Catskill Center, with the old quarry (another good view) and Plattekill Falls.
Is the 'moderate' approach to Giant Ledge from Woodland Valley, or Fox Hollow? (The latter is one that I'd recommend to 1azarus and Malto.)
If we do Harriman again, where haven't we been to yet?
Tom Jones is in a pretty spot, a grassy whaleback like Bald Rocks.
Stockbridge is nice, too, kind of perched up on a rock.
Cave Shelter is not suitable in winter (there's a resident bear, at least some years).
Dutch Doctor is down in the swamp (better in winter when everything's frozen over!) It's an easy toddle from Johnsontown Road, and it's convenient to places like Almost Perpendicular and Claudius Smith's Den.
Stone Memorial is kind of in the middle of nowhere and the footing can be pretty sketchy getting up there if there's ice.
I always know where I am. I'm right here.
Moose, Speedbump and I are heading a little farther south again this year.....Pen Mar to Boiling Springs. Any who wish to venture with us are welcome. The real question is......will there be cheesecake?
