From CNN: A woman on a remote road in BC Seminole Reservation struck and killed a 300 pound black bear Sunday night. Tragically 3 good Samaritans stopped and were killed by another motorist. The bear was killed. I was surprised a year ago to see a black bear standing by US 40 in Ocala National Forest and people just drove by like it was no big deal. In many years of hiking in BC and ONF I never encountered a bear nor thought I would. I saw a panther briefly on a dam in the sawgrass which was incredible.
