    Default packit gourmet

I am the proud recipient of a $50 cert from the subject company.

I have watched with envy, while others feasted (based on the smell) on packet gourmet meals.

Now it's time to order. I need advice:
    1. single versus double size. Yes of no?
2 favorite meals from this company.
    Thanks for your help.

I have not had anything that was not delicious from Packit. I prefer the singles, only because when I start my sections I'm not really hungry. The all American burger is delicious! and the spicy chicken wraps, honestly everything I have tried has been really good.

I personally get the single serving sizes which I think are quite large.

    My personal favorites --
Big Easy Gumbo -- I like this one the best
    Austintasious Tortilla Soup
    Dottie's chicken and dumplings
    Texas State Fair Chili
I liked the burger wrap too but I have only tried that at home and not taken it on a hike.

The one I really didn't care for was the Market Pasta Puttanesca.

Packit Gourmet has some good stuff.

The cheese spread/tortilla filling is awfully garlicky. I like garlic, but not everyone likes that much of it. (And it will add the distinct aroma of garlic to the hiker funk!)

Big Easy Gumbo is great. And I have a weakness for the cheesecake thingys. (They're not cheesecake, really, but carrying cheesecake in warm weather would be a challenge.)

The single size is plenty for me. I don't do long distance hiking, so I never build up the 'hiker hunger.' But I'm a largish guy with a correspondingly large appetite.
I always know where I am. I'm right here.

The chicken salads are really good. Thumbs up for the banana pudding and the strawberry cheesecake. Chicken and Dumplings are good but use less water or it is more like a soup. Definitely my new favorite trail food provider.

Sometimes shipped to a nearby country, the shipping cost is better.

Of course, if your national laws or "duty" is not circumvented. It is food. That might be a problem, although it is freeze-dried or dehydrated shelf stable food.

I want to order freeze dried and dehydrated shelf stable food from Europe, myself.

I have received gear from UK, without having to pay their tax.

Even tried looking at a bulk order, but the shipping goes up, so it's not like a minimum shipping fee either.
It's a shame because i'm tired of the trek n eat and mountain house stuff and have only read good things about the packit gourmet food.
Fingers crossed they find a cheaper shipper in the coming year

It's time to try some, to see for myself how good they are. I just placed an order. I've heard too many good things about them. Pack it gourmet. I will compare them to Mary Janes, which Currently are my favorite.
