Default Any safe parking at Watson Gap? near the Pinhoti / BMK intersection

hi, A friend and I are wanting to do a 3 day / 2 night trip next weekend, or the next if it's too cold for her, and walking the northern Pinhoti looks to be about the right distance at 33 miles from Watson Gap near the BMK / Pinhoti junction, back to Peoples Lake Rd where it turns into a road walk again.

Will there be a safe place to leave a vehicle there, or should we look for a shuttle? We have a family member living in Chatsworth, but he will be busy working so we can't depend on him for more than one shuttle. Google maps says its 1 hr 15 min / 55 miles from center of Chatsworth to Watson Gap via US 76.

Also I'm one of the ones interested in doing a long section on the BMK, but need to hook up with somebody as fit as me to attempt that later on. I'll read the other threads soonand reply again if needed.

there is parking at Waston Gap, but Ron Brown didn't recomend it, No reason giving. Call Dennis Baily 404-32-4144 for shuttle, or Ron Brown 706-636-2825. They are both real close. I used Dennis this week for a section of the BMK.
I plan to hike from hwy 2 BMK to Pinhoti Trail and south to Cohutta Overlook. But I don,t have a date yet. I want better weather .

I left off and picked back up on BMT hikes at Watson Gap both times hitching to and from there. Crazy, but I got easy rides to and from both times in this rather remote location. I would not leave my vehicle there. I recall no maintained signed designated parking lot. It is at the a junction of three dirt gravel roads that are traveled by hunters/maybe fishermen, a few local folks with homes, wanderers, party goers, etc.
