Default Train station on the AT

I am planning on hiking from Katahdin to NY/CT border starting Aug 1st of 2016. I would like to catch a train or bus at the end of my hike to get me into NYC. Can anybody give me some info on a station close by the AT near the NY/CT area? Thanks.

Pawling, NY. Its about 7 miles from the CT border.

If you walk a little further south into Pawling, NY on the AT, there is a train station just north of where the AT crosses the railroad tracks specifically for hikers, but trains only stop there on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays. Metro-North Harlem Line is about a 2 hour ride into the City from Grand Central. As an alternative, you can go down the road about two miles either way to Pawling or Wingdale, which have service 7 days a week.
