I have used kite tyvek (heavy, too much volume in backpack for me), 4 mil painter's plastic (not durable, high volume in backpack for me) and polycryo (tough, stuffs into small stuff sack).

I have also purchased window film: it isn't even slightly like polycryo.

I will try other products because I don't like the price of the polycryo.

I keep going back to the polycryo because it is tough and it will stuff in a small stuff sack.

Then you didn't buy the right type of window film, maybe try duck brand next time.

Even Gossmear gear notes that it is shrink film on their web site.

Search Polycryo window film and you will see ton of articles on which brand to buy...

Its not like Gossmear gear has this stuff specially made just for them....

Forgot to add you want the 1.2mil stuff which is usually exterior stuff as it comes in different thickness so that may have been the problem you had too.

I did look it up. I intend to try Duck Brand, next.

The shrink film I have purchased is nothing like polycryo, one little cut and the cut continues without any help, as described in this thread.
