Shuttle (and Parking) from Fontana Dam to Newfound Gap

I'm planning a section hike from Newfound Gap to Fontana Dam sometime this spring. The plan is to hike from Newfound Gap back to my car at (or near) Fontana Dam. Any recommendations for a place to park and a shuttle to Newfound Gap?

both parking lots----newfound gap and fontana dam----are safe to park at.....

and then i would contact hike inn for a shuttle...

they are a few minutes away from the dam and should be able to shuttle you back up to the gap....

they also have a hotel if you need to spend the night...

and, fwiw, when i used them a few years ago for the same shuttle-----it ran me (single person only) a hundred bucks for the ride to the gap..........

oh, i bet the higher elevations are getting hit hard...

I'm planning on making reservations for two shelters (Derrick Knob and Mollies Ridge) but it looks like the earliest I can do this is 4/25 - 30 days before Memorial Day weekend. I'm sure it's going to be crowded. Is there any way to make reservations sooner?
