i just read an account on reddit ( search " mountain lion attack reported reddit") where a guy claimed he was the one that was bitten, and that it was a large bobcat. There's a link to an excellent photo of a large local bobcat on the page.
I thought that might be the case...but I have never heard of a bobcat attack either.
Bobcats do attack people, though it not all that common. If they are sick or injured and you come up on them it can be a problem, especially if they feel cornered. If you type "Bobcat attacks" in your browser you get a lot of hits. The problem of course is weeding out the stories from actual occurrences.
Mtntopper, my home will probably be going up for sale this fall. Would 2.6 acres with a 2-story house built in 1881 and a 3-bold-spring-fed pond be of interest to you? Trailwise, between Trimpi and Partnersip shelters.
