Asheville to Damascus shuttle help.

I'm getting a ride to Asheville on March 30th and need to get back to Damascus to re-start my SOBO attempt. Any advice? Greyhound to Bristol, TN, then pay for a shuttle, perhaps. Is there a cheaper option that I'm not thinking of? Could I thumb from Bristol to Damascus easily? I have more time than money.
