    Default Woody Gap spring

Somebody tell me where the spring is at Woody. I went thru there Labor day and missed it-Big Mistake (to quote Bryson).I'll be NOBO again but more careful this time. Thanks!

I had trouble finding that spring in 2012. It was down a path (not the at) to the left after crossing the road. About 100 yrds down that path.

I have only used that spring once. There used to be a good little water runoff on the hillside about a half mile south of Woody Gap right on the trail. I would always fill up there.

it's down that path to the left of the AT, maybe a 100 yards or a bit more....just north of Woody Gap road xing, when the trail just enters the woods.... there used to be a "water" sign on a tree there but last time I went thru there the sign was gone. It usually has good water, but can be unreliable in the summer if there hasn't been any rain for several weeks

I remember being in need of water and looking for that spring. I was mighty thirsty that day. Thanks for the memory.

The path to the spring is to the left of the trail behind the latrines heading north. I believe it has a blue blaze, but I have not paid it any attention for many years. I'll be there in the next few days and will check.

I remember spending a couple min looking for it, didnt see it, and then continueing on. It probably needs to be more evident.
