    Default I need an advice

I want to hike a 1000 Km (621.3 miles) in the trail and I want to end in new jersey can you recommend a good place to start and a place to end that will fit the distance? The starting and ending points need to be in places the I can get in and out of the trail of course.
Thank you very much for all the helpers.

Just a thought... you're from NJ, why not simply finish your 1000K at the end of the NJ AT (where it crosses into NY for the last time), backing up your 1000K, by my calculations, that puts you starting near Harvey's Knob along the Blue Ridge parkway... plenty of shuttle drivers in that area that will take you to whatever trail crossing you want. Just an initial thought...

Start at "VA 311- Catawba VA" to "Lott RD-Unionville NY" which is right on the NY and NJ line that will give you 617.1 Miles or you could start at "US 220- Daleville VA" to "Unionville NY" that will give you

Catawba VA to Unionville is 636.9 Miles and Daleville to Unionville is 617.1 Miles both place offer great shuttles and some pretty good views. and easy access to and from the trail.

Or you could start in Andover Maine and hike south to Deleware Water Gap

Good suggestion - you can take AMTRAK to Lynchburg, VA and then get a shuttle. Or take a bus to Roanoke.

If you're hiking in mid-summer, this is a good option but the first 140 miles would be pretty tough - expect low mileage.

i assume you are under a time constraint rather than a distance constraint, so i would just start from where you are and head a direction and see how far you go rather than travel away and walk back. i find myself much more relaxed when time and distance are not always hanging over my head on a long trip.
