Split shuttle cost from Hot Springs, NC to Springer?

Hey everyone. I am hoping to drive up to Hot Springs and then shuttle back to Springer Mountain to begin my hike March 31/April 1,2. Is anyone interested or planning to do this as well? I was quoted $400 for the one-way shuttle. I am hoping to split the cost or find some type of ride-share. Or, I am open to other ideas as well if you have experience.

Maybe try shuttling or hitching to asheville and try to find a craigslist ride-share to get you to springer? Probably be more successful if you were trying to shuttle from a populated area.

There's also Amtrak from Charlotte NC to Gainesville GA.
