I like esbits to help start a fire but can't stand the smell cooking or boiling with em! The stand is a great idea!
The 4 gram tablets have less odor. Found that out this year testing them versus the 14 gram tablets. Lots of testing going on over at backpackinglight.com

I think I've narrowed down to zelps bget stove vs the caldera set up...
Like the Caldera set up but limits me to using one pot(sp600)....when I take my son I usually carry the gsi kettle as it holds enough water for 2 meals..etc...are both similar as far as efficiency or if the cauldera is lots more efficient I could heat 2 pots of water in the sp 600....thoughts?

The BGET style tray is the most efficient compared to the Trail Designs. It has the bread pan corners to prevent loss of the melting esbit. Very Efficient.
This photo show the bread pan corners:

This is pretty neat .
I think ill try to make a few out of scrap pieces of material i have laying around.
I have used esbit on short trips but never on any of my longer trips
