This is my first attempt thru hiking the Appalachian Trail. However I will be starting in Waynesboro, VA, since I have section hiked to about that distance already. I will be starting end of March and will be accompanied by my well behaved dog Jax. Happy trails and wagging tails!

"Doctor" because I was a medic in the Army loooong time ago: '68-'70
Planning on heading north from Damascus first of April. Hope to avoid crowds, also give me a bit of "easy" terrain to get back in shape again, then hitch back for Trail Days in mid-May.

Ended up getting on the trail in Maiine 15 july last year. Had to pull off because of health problems with my dad. Am getting back on the trail at Springer in early March to finish up. Hope to finish by July. Maybe will still see you out there Sanity's Edge.
