Default Looking for A LOT of things

I'm looking for a two person tent, light weight and in good condition.

I'm also looking for a good back pack for both a man and a woman, not entirely sure of the measurements. I just need something that is durable and doesn't hold a lot of things. I don't want to carry any more than 30 lbs.

A water filter. Preferably something not too difficult to use and maintain, as neither of us have used them before.

I'm going to scroll through the 'Selling' section of the Used Gear forum, but feel free to post your item here as well.

Have a MSR Miniworks Ex Water Filter: http://www.rei.com/product/695265/ms...x-water-filter

A couple videos that are helpful in explaining how to use it and clean it (which can be done in the field):
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCFzDiWZg1E
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oslEhlpXbNA

Retails for $90. Willing to sell for $55 including (CONUSA) shipping.

Other than a few scratches on the filter, which does not impact performance, the unit is brand new. It's been used for about 4-5 days.

Go get fitted for packs. Having a comfy pack makes HUGE difference in your daily experience. Don't have to buy just because someone fits you in their shop. It's part of the process of figuring out what works for you.

Thanks for the tip on the tent! As far as the water filter, I planned on pairing it with a chemical treatment of Aquamira drops. So would I use the chemical treatment drops before I use the filter?

Either filter or treat. Both are viable methods, but along the AT there is no need to do both.

Why is there no need to do both? I thought a filter only filtered out so much? From what I've read, it's good to use both because a filter does what drops can't and vise versa. ?_?

A filter will get out anything in your water that you're going to pick up on the AT that would harm you.

Aqua Mira will kill anything in your water that you're going to pick up on the AT that would harm you.

There are more than a few folks that don't bother treating their water at all - I do not fall into that school of thought. I filter using a Sawyer inline. I have used Aqua Mira with success as well.

The filter will filter out all the protozoa (bacteria) that can make you sick, but it can't filter out viruses... but there isn't much of an issue with viruses in the water in most back country areas in the USA.

    Hi Cheese!,
Sent you a PM with my contact info. Just let me know if you are still interested.

Also forgot to mention that I have the 2013 ATC official maps for GA and NC - from Springer to Fontana Dam if you are interested in them.

    Thanks
