Default shuttle info needed: fontana dam back to amicalola late June.

I'll be hiking two weeks of the trail starting June 11th.
I plan to make it to Fontana dam, but I can't seem to find any shuttle info to get back to the trail head.

    Maybe you guys can help.

    Thanks!

Your not looking hard enough. There are about a dozen shuttlers that service Springer -Fontana. Check the AT guide, Mountain Crossings has a list, ATC website, search here, etc.

The easiest, would be Jeff @ the Hike Inn, because he is right there at Fontana.

Best thing to do is park your car at Fontana, then shuttle to the start.

Thanks for the replies guys! What would it cost to be shuttled from fontana dam back to the trailhead Rob?

straight from the http://www.appalachiantrail.org site, there is a PDF with a huge list of shuttle providers all up and down the AT.

rates aren't listed, usually need to call them to get a quote; I've been told about $1-2 a mile, sometimes more, sometimes less.

I'd give Ron above a holler, someone that has enough interest to reply to a thread in the forum gets my vote every time

nuts forgot to include the link (not enough coffee yet) -

    http://www.appalachiantrail.org/docs...t.pdf?sfvrsn=4

seems like a pretty inclusive list, with a large number of shuttle providers (and also information on parking area safety - last date of reported incidents, that type of stuff)

Thanks Rising Eagle, Most people charge more but around $165, If they are 3 or 4 people it is the same price. I don't charge extra per person.
