Nah, it was the the LNT crazies who decided to get as pedantic as possible on that thread. Matthewski did add in a couple good one-liners though, which made it worth reading.

Scott certainly deserves credit for doing an incredibly transparent FKT. He deserves a lot of credit for allowing us to follow in real time.

Given his large support team and pacers, I guess he never had to be concerned about a Nature Boy incident.

Wow. It's really kind of sad that when we should be cheering Scott on, people are looking for excuses as to why his record wouldn't stand out as much as when Jen set the record. They are two totally separate journeys. To compare the two is really kind of silly. They each did it their way. To try and say that either one had it easier is just plain silly. They both had their own obstacles to overcome and do not need excuses for their astounding hikes. To come up with excuses for either one of these amazing athletes is a disservice to both of them.

That is because to most folks - Hike Your Own Hike - seemingly only applies to themselves and not others.

DeLorme's Problem:
1. They load the whole track as the default case instead of the current position.
2. They don't give any information summaries, nor do they give speed since last position or miles to next landmark or finish.
Low marks from me.
