Cool, that looked fun, but I don't think I'd have the sack to drop into an abyss, I'd end up looking like the grinch coming down the chimney all stuck.

I think that was literally the one scene in the whole movie that I can think of, that was not in the book at all.

The last ping I see is leaving Abol Campground Bridge at 7:09. The I've seen the tracker going up the road, but then being deleted.
I wonder if he doesn't have the tracker now?

How far from Abol Bridge to Katahdin Stream? or Summit?

Saw the same thing. Has now updated to 7:49. Looks like he'll soon be leaving the river and headed into the park or up the hill or whatever that is we're looking at.

The Delorme thingy is acting quite strange.
I imagine it might have something to do with the many people watching.
I hope he waits till after the Wimbledon final to summit.

It looks like they fixed the pings and he is moving along the river now.
I don't know how Scott is still moving with so little sleep.
    It is amazing to me.

Wow, I was really figuring he'd be done by noon, can't see him doing 15 miles in the next 4 hours though.

Come on Scott, you got this.

I would expect DeLorme is lovin this...Unless we crash their server with the extra traffic.

They may fool some of the the people, but unless they abandon fixed, rechargeable batteries (which I doubt they will), they aren't fooling me.

IMHO, even if he beats JPD by a couple hours, I would call this a tie.

It's only a tie if there is no measurable difference between their times, IMHO.

Getting harder to make things smaller and more capable, while still keeping the batteries removable. Even Samsung has gone to a fixed battery on the Galaxy S6 smartphone.

Manufacturers are also afraid of their stuff performing badly or setting things on fire with aftermarket batteries. Carrying a separate big battery seems to be the way to go.

Looks like he'll get to Katahdin Stream Campground in 5-ish miles. So maybe around 10:30? Give or take a bit. Wonder what the crowd will be like at that hour.
