Best map and guide to purchase

I am hiking approximately 50 miles along the TN and NC border. There are many guide books and maps available. I want to know what is necessary/good to buy. I have found the below options, so I wanted to reach out for any insight before buying. Thanks.

1. Appalachian Trail Thru-Hikers' Companion *do I need to buy a separate map?
2. The A.T. Guide (David Miller) *do I need to buy a separate map?
3. ATC Guide to Tennesse-North Carolina, 14th Edition (comes with maps)

The A.T. Guide is all you would ever need in my opinion.

Thanks. I will buy the A.T. Guide. The A.T. Guide sells accompanying Pocket Profile maps. Are you saying those aren't needed, or would it be a good idea to buy the one for the section I need?

The Pocket Profile maps do not provide very much detail. IMHO, maps are not needed for the AT. The trail is very well marked in NC/TN.

If you are a smart phone kind of person I would suggest the Guthooks app-it has everything including:
Side profile including a GPS tracking location of where you are on the mountain
Interactive forum style info update on water sources etc
top view map showing you what direction on trail you are facing and IF you are actually on the trail(saved my butt in the Smokies)
Hard to explain but if you are at point A and click on point D it will tell you how many miles you have left until you are there.

I bring a antigravity gear pocket map as a backup if I have technical difficulties.
