    Default WTB: Kelty Ultra Tioga

Looking for a Kelty Ultra Tioga.

Yeah, I know it's not likely, but can't hurt to ask, right? Maybe somebody has one safely stored away and wouldn't mind selling it for the right price... If so, send me a private message with asking price!

Thanks, but I'm not really in the market for a Super Tioga - they are pretty easy to come by and the Tioga 5500 is still available new and I don't think much different - I am really after the rarer Ultra model that I will likely never find...

That said if the condition and price (and hate to admit the vanity, but color, I don't like blue!) are right I might bite. So feel welcome to send more details. I tried sending this in a PM but your mailbox is full.

Bump. Got a fat wad of cash waiting at the ready for anybody who is sitting on one of these!

I gave my almost new Ultra Tioga to my old backpacking buddy Johnny B---

Here he is crossing the North Fork Citico trail with my borrowed Ultra Tioga. Most people won't have a clue about what you're talking about as everyone knows Super Tioga, no one knows Ultra Tioga.

Here's my old Ultra on the left during a 9 day backpacking trip with Johnny.

The reason I gave him the Ultra was because it just didn't work for me with any weight above 65 lbs---it sagged on the hips and killed me. It's the reason I dumped it and went first with a red Dana Designs Terraplane on right and later went with a big load hauler from Mystery Ranch.

Well, for me the Super proved itself comfortable with a 75 pound load, and I think that will be about the most I ever carry. I don't suppose Johnny still has and wants to sell the Ultra? They seem as rare as hen's teeth!

    Thanks for sharing the pictures!

It never fails - I try searching the internet for Ultra Tiogas in vain, and keep coming across Tipi Walter again. Here's that Johnny B fellow again!
