In addition to myself, just wondering if there are any other New Jersey residents attempting a thru-hike this year (2016). If so, would welcome the opportunity to get together, compare notes (fears), etc!
Thanks

I'm planning on a early to mid April start.
I wish I could be joining you... Instead, I will be hiking from the Delaware Water Gap to home close to Waywayanda.
Good luck to you both!
Does it count that I was born in NJ and moved to Texas when I was 16? Funny, I am still referred to as a Yankee down here and my NJ friends call me a redneck! I can't wait. Either way I am starting NOBO on Aoril 6th.
I live in Jersey and I'm planning to leave in early April. Would be happy to compare notes.
Best
Planning a 2nd attempt in April.
Simple is good.
hoping to get as far as I can starting in maine in between the spring and fall school semesters. IF, Katahdin is open by the 15 of May, I think I have like 90-119 days to attempt an SOBO thru
Wow, what a great group! Best of luck to all and I hope to see you on the trail!
Born and raised in Bergen County until I moved to Atlanta 20 something years ago. Target date for Springer is 3/1.
Not a thru-hiker but I am a displaced NJ native (now in VA). Since I visit my family in NJ quite often, I plan to try finishing NJ SOBO this year. Day hikes, loops, biking between trail heads, out and backs and maybe an over-night backpack or two. Less than 50 miles to go. So far, I have totally enjoyed the trail in NJ. Sorry about being off topic.
Hey Kenl and Richs, I just saw this post and live in NJ. It'll be great to join your chat.
