I buy the cheapest casio from walmart with glo in the dark numbers I can find. Usually under $20. Between being a RN, diving, running, hiking I am very hard on watches so I don't spend a lot of money on them. They seem last for a least a year on the store battery.

My $20 waterproof walmart watch lasted me a three month hike no problem. Still works, actually.

After my new fitbit crapped out I bought a Garmin Fenix 2 it's much cheaper now that there is a new model out now. It has sunrise/sunset, temp, compass, barometer, GPS and waypoints, I could go on! It's easy to use and hates via usb. $150 Garmin factory refurb on eBay.

Oh, I could never buy a watch that hates - It's bad enough when the alarm on my Timex decides it needs to scream at me to get up in the morning!

I believe your autocorrect must have overrode the word "charges."

The same Fossil watch I wear every day. I am really restricted on what I can wear due to nickel sensitivity...no cheap Walmart watches for me. Plus my wrists are so small it's hard to find a cheap watch that fits!

I LOVE my smartwatch at home, but on the trail I ditch my watch altogether. I have my phone in my pocket if I need to know the time, but mostly I love the experience of not being controlled by a clock.
