A few days beforehand, the trail pretty much cleared out. There were all kinds of shuttle opportunities, people had friends who drove them there, people easily hitched. I stayed on the trail and avoided Damascus, but if you get in the general area, it's easy enough to get there.
took me from March 10th to April 25th and that was with 3 zero's and my slow self.... that was when I was at my fastest pace to - I slowed that down in VA once I did the math and said "I don't need to average over 12 miles a day to make it to Katahdin by 10/15, I only need to average a little over 10!"

Termite fart so much they are responsible for 3% of global methane emissions.
Can one still leave their vehicle at the library and expect to get it out in the heart of Trail Days? If not, where can one park long term? I am planning my next big section this spring and would like to time it so that I arrive in Damascus for Trail Days and experience it.
