Erwin or Damascus

Two Mainers wondering what to do. Should we park our car in Erwin and find someone to shuttle our car to Damascus in approx. 10 days so it's there when we arrive or park in Damascus and get a shuttle to Erwin to start our section hike? Wondering about safe resonably priced parking and shuttles. Any trail angels out there?.......willing to pay a reasonable fee? Thanks

If it were me I would park in Damascus and start hiking south, then get a ride back when I was done.

Rationale: I might not make it to my car for any number of reasons, and paying for one shuttle is cheaper. (Ask me how I know this.... ) SOBO out of Damascus starts flat-ish then hits the open balds of the NC high country. Very nice hike.

Park in Damascus, shuttle to Erwin - just as Lone Wolf suggested. The only consideration is whether you want to start with the more difficult portion or easier. The 40 miles from Damascus south are pretty easy. Do you want that at the start or finish?

i would take the wolf shuttle and hike into Damascus.

We will be arriving the 10th of April. Do you know of a safe place to leave my car? Costs? Shuttle cost to Erwin the 10th late or early the 11th? Thanks lone wolf.
