    Default Thru-hiker in Michigan

    Yesterday I hiked half the day with a thru hiker near Mesick, MI. He started in Georgia last February. He finished the AT, hiked back south to get on the NCT and continued hiking. He is almost half way on the NCT. He has been carrying snowshoes since Dayton, OH. Yesterday was the first he had to use them. His plan is to finish the NCT then continue west...

    I met a NCT thru hiker last summer in Grand Marais MI. They are a rare sighting.

    That would suck to carry snow shoes for 300 miles before you needed them.

    It was Attrition I met on the trail. He must be getting close to the UP by now.
