Thread: Getting Started

  1. #1

    Default Getting Started

I am an Avid weekend backpacker I have some gear, but I feel that what I have is to cumbersome for a thru Hike. I have been doing some reearch on lightweight gear, but I just cannot make up my mind on a Pack, a Tent and a sleeping bag. I want to be as comftorable as possible but dont want to break my back. any input on what works and what doesn't would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Floatero2
You're in the right place, browse around, read some threads and check out the articles and gear forums. Welcome!

welcome! you should especially check out the lightweight backpacking tips section... will save you from typing a lot of questions that are answered there... good stuff.

also, if you haven't found it already, check out backpackgeartest.com. great site, advertiser-free, and with real testers (hikers like you and me, not paid jouranalists). i'm not one, but plenty of folks there post here too, and pretty much call it like it is.

    again, welcome.
