I am all about buying smart and not wasting a ton of money when something cheaper works just as well. So don't laugh at this question....cuben fiber sacks or zip lock bags for the smaller stuff. (On the AT of course) Thanks for the input

Freezer grade zip lock bags are the way to go.

Ziploc bags work great, but compared to cloth, they have a much shorter life. Your priorities. Your call.
quart size ziplock bags with the actual zipper top. 1 box has more than you'll ever need for just a few bucks or less. if you're bringing electronics, I would still double bag them (in ziploc then in waterproof stuff sack), just to be sure.

I'm always pretty concerned about my stuff getting wet, so I bought two sea to summit dry bags that have kept my clothes and food dry through many storms. I've used one as a bear bag and it's never gotten wet.
For little stuff? Ziploc bag. For big stuff that has to stay dry? Cuben fiber roll top bag.
One large thick trash bag (mine are white, similar to the vets body bags (no not to put vets inside them...)) and thin nylon bags for the various categories such as night stuff/emergency gear and so on.
A couple of my packs have a built in liner so I omit the body bags with those.
Good deal! thanks for the input!!
I shy away from cuben fiber anything just yet, and use other stuff sacks I already have for backpacking.
Trash compactor bag inside main pack with a couple of cheap dry bags for toiletries and FA kit, and a ziploc for TP.
Food goes in ziplocs then into a dry bag to hang.
I have a few small cuben fiber bags I've picked up here and there from miscellaneous places (gifts, come with other stuff, etc..) which I like, but I don't spend a lot on bags. Use zip locks too.
