After a long and exciting 3 week drive from California, we finally reached Johnson City, TN. Anyone know of someone who can give 2 people and a dog a ride to Hampton so we can begin our flip flop hike?

Hey,
Not too long ago I wrote and published an E-book titled "Philbrick's Appalachian Trail Transit Guide", So, you could say I wrote the book on how to access the Trail via public transportation. Fortunately, for hikers there is a great County Dial-A-Ride service that can access just about any paved road access point along the AT in the northeast corner of Tennessee, and prices a very reasonable. But, like anything that's to good to be true there's a catch. The service only operate weekdays, appointments must made 24 hour in advance with Monday appointments made the prior Friday.
Hope this helps.
