Default NC/TN section hike suggestions for my second hike.

Thanks to the suggestions on this forum, I completed my first Section hike from 19E to Erwin TN. This year I want to do a longer distance in the same general area. I was thinking of doing ~ 100 mi.

I am sticking with the general NC/TN area (including possibly dipping into Georgia or Virginia) as I have family in NC who can perform drop off and pick up duty. I was thinking about going through the Smokies. Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks.

Erwin to I-40/Standing Bear Farm is 102 miles. Or you could do the section between 19E and Massie Gap/ Grayson Highlands State Park (106 miles). Both sections are pretty good, with the nod going to Grayson Highlands, because ponies.

If you are dead set on the Smokies, then the NOC to I-40/Standing Bear would your best bet at 103 mi.

Unicoi Gap or Dick's Creek Gap in GA to Fontana would put you at just over 100 miles as well.

Its also mostly pretty much the same, minus the couple views you get now and then.
