Default Starting My Thru-Hike from Amicalola on May 15th

I know it is a late start but I was hoping to avoid some of the early season snow as well as the crowds. I am a retired Marine and I am taking the 2189 mile challenge to raise money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. I won't post the link, as it might be frowned upon by moderators, but if anyone is interested in finding out more about it or donating shoot me a message. Hope to meet a lot of you out on the trail!

I'll be starting my annual 30 day hike at Fontana Dam on June 1. For those starting mid May we should cross paths. I'll be the short guy with a black ball cap wearing a blue exos 48 pack. See ya on the trail!

Sweet! I am actually a day behind due to a problem with my truck this morning, but I am driving to Amicalola tomorrow, hiking the approach trail Monday, and setting off from Springer on Tuesday...one day behind my original plan.

Good luck!! I started last year on April 19th and ran into very few crowds and just missed the Damascus party by 2 days (intentionally). You should have a pretty good weather and people start. Again good luck and hope ya make it! I didn't but I'm retired Air Force so I'll leave it at that. Hahaha
