Default Hammocking near bald mountain shelter

What are the hammocking possibilities near the shelter (Bald Mountain between Erwin and Hot Springs) and south of the shelter (say at the survey marker) ? I understand that camping is discouraged around the shelter, but am wondering what is nearby (south).

    Thanks

No problem hammocking near the shelter. Plenty of trees.
I am not young enough to know everything.

The shelter itself is in the woods with plenty of good places to hang nearby. Further south the trail is mostly out in the open until after you go over the top of Big Bald, and even after you get back in the woods the terrain is pretty rough for a ways.

So I'd either plan to hang near the shelter or carry water at least 2 miles up over Big Bald. Or bring a tent - there's plenty of open space to camp on top of Big Bald if the weather is nice.
It's all good in the woods.
