Hello loveiles!
Recently I purchased two pairs of Darn Tough's 1/4 cushion hiker socks. With these socks I'd very much like to find sock liners that pair with them nicely. What is the best sock liners you can recommend?

I wear Smartwool liners. Not with 1/4's, but with crews. I have been happy with them so far.

injinji toe sock liners
Another vote for Injinji. They are a total game changer.
I used to have to tape my feet to avoid blisters. Since changing to these, I have had zero blisters and have never taped again. I don't even bother with a second pair of socks. I just wear these liners, and I am set.

I use Icebreaker or Smartwool liners when it's cold and thin synthetic ones from Fox River when its hot. Two pair of the Fox River ones (which are quite thin) only last for about 250-300 trail miles for me, so on longer trips I would include more in my resupply.

I use "wright sock" has a kind of a liner built right in.
You'll all laugh at this, but it has been used by football linebackers. Knee high hose. You can get a pack of ten pairs for a couple bucks. They do exactly what they're supposed to do, and as long as you keep your toe nails trimmed, each pair will last a few days. They weigh nothing. Give them a try on a section hike if you don't believe me.
Plaid is fast! Ticks suck, literally... It’s ok, bologna hoses off…

The best liner is none imo.
Not to get into it, but with right fitting footwear, and right socks, none are necessary.
Most peoples problem is they believe they need a padded sock
You do with ill fitting footwear, too fill voids. Make it feel snug
Padded socks are coarse and dont slide against shoe,, so you get a finely woven liner that slides easier
Get footwear that fits good, and thin unpadded tightly woven socks that slide easy anyway against shoe, and you dont need no liner. Feet stay cooler as well.
Basically......cycling socks. Or unpadded running socks. Or mens hose type dress socks.
Heres the problem, most boots are clunky and hard and ill fitting and made for thick socks. Built in problem that requires band aid solution.

Go with the Injinji's, they also keep your toes separated, which them to work better individually and they can breath better!
