    Default The Hike Inn

Jeff from the Hike Inn is very ill. prayers needed
"Some of you has met Jeff & Nancy Hoch at Fontana Dam at The Hike
Inn. Asking prayers for my father in law, Jeff Hoch. We received the
call today that his cancer has spread to
his brain and so much swelling. He was taken yesterday to the hospital
and is no longer has the strength to stand and became paralyzed.

Just please remember him in your prayers and let others know. They have
met hundreds hikers through the years and loved every second of it.
Please keep my mother in law in your prayers for days ahead.
    Thank you"

Terrible news! Had no idea. Have used him for a shuttle many times.
Always enjoyed his conversations and local history lessons.
Prayers for Jeff and family on the way.

Man, I'm REALLY sorry to hear that. I've stayed with Jeff many times and had the opportunity to talk a bit during some shuttles he provided. He's a truly nice guy and we will definitely keep him and all of you in our prayers!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. We first met Jeff and Nancy in 2003, when they helped us with our first family section hike, then again in '04 and '05, and many times since. Terrific people, so helpful to newbie hikers.

The Hike Inn was responsible for my son's first shuttle ride/drop-off for his first AT section hike. Great people and great place to hang out on the porch. Our prayers are with you.

Very sorry to hear about Jeff. My prayers to Jeff and Nancy. I first met them in 1998 or 1999, not too long after they got the Fontana Inn up and running (now the Hike Inn). I've used them for shuttles and occasionally dropped on by when hiking in the area. I always enjoyed viewing Jeff's Indian relic display.

Thank you, Lone Wolf, for letting us know. I stayed there in '05 and Jeff shuttled us. Super nice folks. So sorry to hear and will send up a prayer, indeed.

Last night he was still conscious making little thumbs up and small smile. During the night he has become non responsive. He breathing is hard and rapid. The doctor and nurses said that he is shutting down. Please continue to pray for Nancy, family, and friends
