Approach Trail - Undecided, more than likely.
I am getting a blog up and running, where I will post pics and videos. I have the domain created, but no content yet. I will do some lead up stuff too, shakedown hikes and whatnot, and I have to create a new youtube channel to go with it, the one I have is video game related. My brother is coming along too, we probably won't hike together the whole time but keep tabs on each other and encourage each other the whole way!

Still waiting for my visa (i'm german).
Currently weighing in at 375 lbs. Not doing the trail for the purpose of losing weight, but it will be a nice side-effect.
Been looking forward to this since i learned of the AT's existence in 2001.

Default Freedom to roam in 2017

    ATEAM here! (Hobo & Turtle)
    SOBO starting July 4th
"Approach trail" is a must for a SOBO. How else would you get to the start/finish point on top of Katadhin (LOL)

We're 50-something, self - employed, flat landers from College Station, TX. We tackled about 300 miles of the AT during the summer of 2010 (Lee, MA to Mt Washington summit). We fell in love with Vermont so we went back during the summer of 2012 and hiked the Long Trail. Hobo solo hiked GA though SMNP in '07 while I (turtle) was still teaching school but had to end the thru attempt early.

In charge of our own schedule now, we are excited to have more than 6 weeks to spend on the trail. Guess we'll howdy all you NOBO's somewhere in New England.
    Happy trails!!!

Leaving the same day, but I'm going up on the 12th from Dunwoody. I like early starts and don't want to waste half a day. May catch you on the trail. I'm a great fan of Plato and if you don't have it this is a great link. https://appalachiantrailclarity.com/...eres-the-beer/

Looks like about 6 of us starting out the same day. I'm gonna take it slow the first few weeks. 8 to 12 mile days. I'm planning on staying in the same shelters I stayed at when I hiked from Springer to Fontana Dam. That was a good pace for me. 15 days to get there then I'll pick up the pace after the smokies

Approach Trail - yes or no: Maybe
any additional infothat you want the world to know: I’ve done the whole trail. When I left in 15, I was pretty sure I wouldnot hike it again. As time went by, Icontinued to feel the lure of the trail. After months of prayerful consideration, several visits to the trail, and a lot of soul searching, I’ve decided to go again.

When I skipped the approach trail in the past, I feltsomething missing, so I went back to do it. In the past, I tried to do every single foot of the trail. If I got picked up at a road to go into town, and then dropped off on the other side of the road, I’d walk across the road toget that piece. I’m not sure I’llapproach the hike the same way this year; we’ll see.

My 15 adventure is on trail journals; not sure if I will doan online journal again.

    See you on the trail!
