We have set an official date now.

June 29 will be our summit of Katahdin. I look forward to see everyone coming up the trail our way and falling in with the other southbounders!

Arrive Atlanta from Australia 10th, day to get food/fuel and mail a few things, then get to Springer.

If you hear a melodious aussie accent from a 50+ young man, it's probably me, so say g'day. Meeting you is one of the reasons I'm bushwalking the AT.

Leaving the same day, but I'm going up on the 12th from Dunwoody. I like early starts and don't want to waste half a day. May catch you on the trail. I'm a great fan of Plato and if you don't have it this is a great link. https://appalachiantrailclarity.com/...eres-the-beer/

Looks like about 6 of us starting out the same day. I'm gonna take it slow the first few weeks. 8 to 12 mile days. I'm planning on staying in the same shelters I stayed at when I hiked from Springer to Fontana Dam. That was a good pace for me. 15 days to get there then I'll pick up the pace after the smokies

I actually hope you don't as I'm starting the 13th Mar. If you catch me I must be moving at a snail's pace. Are you going to Trail Days? If so I may see you there. Where in Qld? I'm in Brisbane.
